Mitchell J. Baker received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Pace University School of Law in 1980. After receiving his Master of Law degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1981, he clerked for the Honorable Irving Ben Cooper, United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York from 1981 to 1983.
Mr. Baker’s practice, which spans over thirty years, focuses on sophisticated business affairs involving large, privately held companies and high net worth individuals. His extensive litigation record is distinguished by a number of reported cases including Cavendish Traders, Ltd. v Nice Skate Shoes, Ltd., 117 F. Supp. 2d 394 (SDNY 2000); Goldstein v Kohl’s 16 A.D.3d 622, 792 N.Y.S. 2d 182 (2nd Dept. 2005); LePartner v. VJM Home Renovations, Inc., 295 A.D. 2d 322, 744 N.Y.S. 2d 337 (2nd Dept. 2002); Lower Manhattan Loft Tenants v New York City Loft Board, 104 A.D.2d 223, 482 N.Y.S.2d 727 (2nd Dept. 1984); Mauro v Choi, 11 Misc. 3d 1070A, 816 N.Y.S.2d 697 (NYC Civ. Ct. 2006). He has also successfully represented numerous individuals in Family Law and Real Estate matters and Personal Injury claims.
Mr. Baker is also a Director of the New York Academy of Trial Lawyers.
